Obverse: Portrait to the left of Jean (1921-), Grand Duke of Luxembourg from 1964 to 2000 surrounded by legend and face value. Under the head the initials of the Luxembourg Monetary Institute (IML).
Reverse: In the upper half of a circle, a strophe of the "Hémecht" (national anthem), in the lower half, the American and Luxembourg flags, adapted to the curvature of the circle. The upper part of the border is decorated with rays with the face value at its center. The lower part of the border bears the legend with the commemorative dates.
