Greysheet Catalog Details (GSID: 255712)

The 1608 1 Speciedaler is part of a series of Standard circulation coins struck from 1608-1610. Designated as a Business (MS) strike, this coin is made of Silver (.875).
Obverse: Standing armored figure of King Christian IV holding his scepter in the right hand over the shoulder and a globus cruciger in the outstretched left hand. The figure is partially within a rope circle and the date is divides at sides of King knees. Legend is outside the circle with mintmark (flower over crossed halberds) at end.
Reverse: Central flat-topped shield with Arms of Denmark is encircled by a ring of 13 oval shields of Danish Territories and dipendencies. The central shield is also above a cross with Danish Crown in its upper arm, at same level of the other shields. King’s motto is around central shield, cut in four parts by cross arms. All the shield are inside a pearled circle with legend outside cut in four parts by cross arms as well as King's motto.
